OMELIHU NWANGUMA'S BIOGRAPHY
Brief Bio
My big break was working as an assistant to Ron Howard on THE DAVINCI CODE. Although I’d directed a couple of short films, my conversations with Mr Howard made me realize that it was possible to tell the stories I wanted to tell about how I see the world we live in.
I have worked in the film industry in different capacities for over ten years where I developed skills in directing, cinematography, script writing and production. My films have screened at numerous festivals worldwide (including The London Film Festival and The American Black Film Festival) and have been distributed by HBO and The British Council.
I want to make films because I have storytelling in my blood- it is something I always wanted to do even if I sometimes feel I might not be up to a given task. I have so much I want to say about our world and I love exploring the different cultures that exist in my stories, introducing audiences into new worlds in a fresh and exciting way, leaving them with an engaging cinematic experience.
I am currently in development on two feature film projects: AREA BOYS- a gang drama set in Lagos, and WHO OWNS THE LAW- a political action thriller about corruption in Nigeria.
I am repped by Josh Varney at Independent Talent.
