NETH KNOWLES' BIOGRAPHY

Neth studied Film Theory at Middlesex University, where he was once laughed at for knowing the name of Keanu Reeves’ character in “Speed” during a lecture on mass protagonists in early Soviet Cinema. After university he spent several years working in various factions of police training, including criminal law tuition.

In 2007, he left that role in order to spend more time with his daughter, and as a result he decided to try his hand at a life-long ambition to write screenplays. After a couple of attempts, his first completed script BACK BACK FORWARD (formerly THE BAILEY METHOD) – a slacker comedy partly inspired by 80s movies from the likes of John Hughes and Rob Reiner - was picked up for development with the UK Film Council’s First Feature Fund in 2008.

Since then, that script has found itself in pre-production with Jeva Films, whilst he is currently working on RUNNERS – a comedy about three friends who vow to avoid paying restaurant bills for a year - for Eclipse Films. He also has two further projects (a dark comedy about the military; and a Prague-set urban exploration horror) in development.

Neth is represented by Ed Hughes at Linda Seifert Management.
